Greater Chicago Food Depository:

• started modestly in 1978 as a food bank by just a few members; now serves over 8oo agencies in the Chicagoland area; offers a variety of ways for volunteers to get involved—donating, serving, cleaning, administrative work, loading trucks, and even making a career at the depository.

Night Ministry:

• a non-denominational organization that strives to help those in need on the streets of Chicago; ministry areas include an open door youth shelter, outreach and health ministries, youth shelter network, and community and congregational relations.

Northside Housing:

• provides temporary overnight shelter; works to eliminate problems that lead to homelessness and set individuals on the path towards self-sufficiency; offers job training for those in need and provides support groups for residents with drug abuse problems; provides professional social service workers and volunteers to counsel residents who suffer from mental illness.
